Weekend Metro Service Advisory for Prince George’s County (Jan 10–11)

As we head into the weekend, I want to share an important transit update for residents and visitors who rely on Metro service in Prince George’s County.

This weekend—Saturday, January 10, and Sunday, January 11—Metro trains will not be operating at the following stations:

  • West Hyattsville

  • Hyattsville Crossing

  • College Park–University of Maryland

  • Greenbelt

During this time, bus service will replace rail service in the affected areas. According to Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), express buses will run between Greenbelt and Fort Totten, with local bus service also available throughout impacted neighborhoods to help riders reach their destinations.

WMATA reports the temporary closure is necessary to replace rail cross ties, an essential maintenance activity that helps keep our transit system safe and reliable.

If you’re planning to travel this weekend, please allow extra time, consider alternate routes when possible, and check WMATA’s service advisories for the latest updates before you head out.

Thanks for your patience—and have a safe, enjoyable weekend as we keep our transit infrastructure moving forward.
