NCPCA – It’s Your Neighborhood Association

Today is the second Thursday of the month and the day for North College Park’s May meeting. Here is a brief overview of tonight’s meeting.

The meeting will start with discussion on the nominations for NCPCA officers and plans for candidates forum on June 12

Members will then discuss some concerns and possible solutions to pedestrian safety and traffic problems on the metro path and at 53rd Avenue and Lackawanna Street.

There will be also some discussion on City Police Force & Contract Police Services. See Gazette article on April 1. Members will discuss concerns about the effectiveness of the City’s contract police program, and ways to improve.

Members will then briefly discuss (1) Mother’s Day 5K running Event, this weekend, on May 11, Sunday (2) Criminal Activity and Crime Prevention at 52nd Ave and Narragansett Run Tunnel Under Railroad. (3) Pedestrian Safety Crossing US 1 at Edgewood Rd. and (4) Update from the April meeting.Commercial Robbery Prevention (5) Extension of Hollywood Road to West Side of US 1, in vicinity of Mazza Grand Marc Apartments. This may impact District 4 residents.
