Roy and RT Now Offer Fresh Brewed Coffee Many of us really miss the smiling presence of our former vendor Ana from The Coffee Barn, and we especially miss having a freshly brewed “cup of Joe” at the market. Now, Roy and RT Caspari have come to the rescue, selling cups of fresh brewed coffee as well as their delicious Indonesian food.A great big thank you to Roy and RT’s Kitchen and Garden for their home-grown, home-made lunch fare; fresh lettuce and greens from their garden (see below); and now for their coffee! New Board Members NeededThe more the merrier…many hands make light work…etc. The “founding members” of the Hollywood Farmers’ Market (HFM)—who are your north College Park neighbors—invite you to help us make every Saturday morning a success. You can volunteer a little bit of your time or a lot; it’s your choice—and your market!Check out our website, and find us on Facebook E-mail Janis at janiso@erols.com if you’re interested in getting more involved.Next Week: Great Shoals Wines & Ciders Will Return Many of you had a taste of this Eastern Shore winery’s products, and some of you purchased bottles to enjoy at home. They will not be at the market this weekend, but will return next Saturday, August 23, and will be part of the market every other week until the end of the season. Come for a taste! You may be surprised how good the wine and cider is that this company is offering at the market. The HFM board voted Janis Oppelt (in lovely balloon hat below) as its secretary and newsletter editor for one primary reason—she can write, and, in fact, she writes for a living and actually likes it (usually).
You will see her at the market, buying a little of what she wants from each farmer and trying (but usually failing) not to buy another beautiful piece of jewelry from Betty Gailes, owner of Ear Gear, like the one below.
