I scream! You scream! We all scream for ice cream! Did you know that July is National Ice Cream month? We’ll be celebrating with the University of Maryland Dairy selling pints and quarts of ice cream. Don’t want that much? Mel’s Munchies will be selling single scoops. Or if you want to really celebrate- stop by both vendors. This weekend’s weather is going back to hot and humid- perfect for one (or both) of these yummy treats.

We have many vendors returning this week including: Calvert Farm, Stone Hearth Bakery, Baker Charley, Victory Chapel Family Farm and Inge’s Crochet.

Yoga Heights DC will return this week and are at the market around 10:30 am. It’s a perfect way to start the day!
If you would like to contact our group of instructors please email yoga.hollywoodmarket@gmail.com or visit their website http://yogaheightsdc.com/

Upcoming weeks:

The Buy Local Challenge starts July 21! Are you ready to take the challenge? Find out more here: https://www.buylocalchallenge.com/

Why is it important to buy/eat locally grown foods?

You get exceptional freshness and help protect the environment. Buying from local farms helps you get products that are fresher, and have traveled much shorter distances overall from farm to fork. This promotes cleaner air and water by reducing the carbon footprint, since it takes less energy to transport products over shorter distances. https://www.buylocalchallenge.com/about
The Animal Welfare Committee will return the week of July 28th for free microchipping for all College Park resident’s pets. A $20.00 fee for non College Park residents. If you have not had your pet microchipped, please consider doing so. This system has helped reunite animals to their owners.

Also on the 28th, Jazz Harpist, Patrice Fisher and her student Karla Williams will preform at noon. Check out Patrice’s YouTube page: www.youtube.com/ecoslatinos
