Vol. 2 Issue 17 – The last weekend of August  UMD students are arriving, school buses are back on the road, it’s slightly cooler than a few weeks ago- must mean we are at the end of summer.

Have you had a chance to stop by Calvert Farms booth?  A little known secret that they have is called the $5.00 box.  In it are a mixture of veggies and fruits-  Perfect for a small family!  Stop by and pick one up before they are all gone!

Last week the AWC had a successful adoption event.  Thank you to all who are interested in adopting any of the adorable pets.

This week, Councilmember Mary Cook (District 4) will be the representative at the City table.

Our talented musician, Eric Vespers, will also have honey for sale at the market this week.  He sold 100 lbs. at the Montgomery County Fair last week and only has 30 lbs. left.  Congrats to Eric!

Crest Hill Bakery:
Our very own wonderful Cristal who has brought us fantastic breads over the years has now taken on her dream job- teaching French!  We are super excited for her and love that she is now doing something that she really enjoys (yes, she loved spending Saturdays with us but teaching is the career path she has longed to return too).  Cristal has been training for this position last weekend and this weekend but will be back for one last market on September 3rd.  Stop by and say goodbye.  We will truly miss her!

Waltz Family Farm
Waltz Family Farm has limited amount of Goat left. If anyone wants a cut need to email or call ahead. They will not have extra to sell at the market on Saturday. They have Leg of Goat, goat shoulder, Shanks, Chops, soup bones and organs. They have plenty of Beef Pork Lamb and Cheeses.
