Here is the agenda for this Thursday’s NCPCA community meeting agenda. As always, the meeting will take place at 7:30pm, at Davis Hall.
7:30 Call to Order and urgent announcements regarding conduct of meeting; followed by motion to approve the agenda for tonight with any motions of amendment.
7:35 Construction Plans for Hollywood Gateway Park. Rescheduled from last month, when City Councilmembers Kabir and Kennedy were asked to provide a summary of info about construction of this new park at US 1 and Edgewood Road.
7:50 Community Center Committee Planning Update. The NCPCA Community Center Committee led by Mary Cook and Christine Nagle will provide news of their recent work to develop a community center with funded activities, meeting space and other amenities in North College Park. A major outreach effort is being planned, which may include expenditure of NCPCA funds for publicity and materials with approval of membership. Volunteers are needed.
8:10 NCPCA Community Picnic. A committee led by Marcia Booth was established at the June meeting to explore a community picnic event later in the summer or fall. Volunteers are needed, and this would be great opportunity to meet neighbors and strengthen our community and build goodwill for our Association. NCPCA funds and approval of membership may be necessary for publicity and materials for the event.
8:30 Break & Refreshments. Members are invited to bring something to share.
8:40 Approval of Minutes & Announcements. Minutes of June 12 meeting will be approved; NCPCA Officers will provide reports; elected officials and guests will make announcements of activities and upcoming events.
8:55 Approval of Letter to Angela Alsobrooks. At the June meeting, candidate for County Executive Ms. Angela Alsobrooks expressed interest in the history of community concerns related to development near Greenbelt Metro. This letter will provide a response to her request.
9:05 Updates – US 1 Storage Facility at Hollywood Rd & US 1 Chick-fil-A at Branchville Rd. The latest planning and zoning news will be presented. Possible NCPCA resolution in new business.
