NCPCA – It’s Your Neighborhood Association

This Thursday is the second Thursday of the month and hence the day when NCPCA – North College Park Community Association (NCPCA) will hold its monthkly meeting. The meeting will start at 7:30pm at Davis Hall.

7:30 Call to Order and urgent announcements regarding conduct of meeting; followed by motion to approve the agenda for tonight with any motions of amendment.

7:35 Announcements of Candidates for Elected Office. Sen. Jim Rosapepe, Del. Ben Barnes and Del. Joseline Peña-Melnyk and are expected. Also expected are Mr. Matt Dernoga, candidate for Md. House of Delegates, and Ms. Angela Alsobrooks, candidate for County Executive. If other candidates for office within the NCPCA area wish to speak, they will be allowed ~ 5 minutes each. This segment will be limited to 25 minutes. General announcements of elected officials are scheduled later.

8:00 NCPCA Officer Election. This item will begin promptly at 8 pm. After any other nominations are received from the floor, ballots will be distributed and current NCPCA members will elect the President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer of NCPCA for the next year.

8:10 Community Center Committee Report & NCPCA Resolution. The report of the NCPCA Community Center Committee was endorsed last month, and the Committee has continued its work by discussing future plans and funding in light of the recent $50,000 budgeted for the North College Park community by M-NCPPC. The Committee will present an update, and if a motion is made, it will be considered at this time or immediately after the break.

8:40 Break / Refreshments. Members are invited to bring something to share during a short break.

8:50 Construction Plans for Hollywood Gateway Park. City Councilmembers Kabir and Kennedy have been asked to provide a summary of the latest information about this new park at US 1 and Edgewood Road.

9:00 Announcements. Report of President regarding NCPCA letter to P.G. Fire Dept. about Branchville VFD staffing; report of Treasurer regarding summary of costs to support membership; presentation of new NCPCA officers for 2018-2019; comments of new officers; comments of elected officials, members and guests.

9:10 New Business by motion of members, followed by call for new topics for discussion tonight, or for discussion at our next meeting, as time allows. Unless a special meeting is called in July or August, the next meeting of NCPCA will be September 13, 2018. If there is interest in a special meeting in July, it may be scheduled at this time.

9:30 Motion to continue meeting will be in order, otherwise we adjourn.

Membership in NCPCA is open to all adult residents of North College Park, and only members may vote in decisions of the Association. Please complete the membership form and mail it with your dues payment, or bring dues and payment to a meeting.
