With a significant snowstorm forecasted to bring up to 10 inches of snow to our area, the City has adjusted the refuse, recycling, and yard waste collection schedule for the week of January 6 to ensure the safety of our solid waste workers. Please take note of the following changes:
- Monday collections will occur on Tuesday, January 7.
- Tuesday collections will occur on Wednesday, January 8.
- Wednesday collections will occur on Thursday, January 9.
Special collections for brush and bulky items will only be scheduled for Friday, January 10. If you need a special collection, you must call 240-487-3590 or email publicworks@collegeparkmd.gov to schedule a pickup before placing items at the curb.
Snow Preparation and Safety
To ensure our roads are cleared effectively and safely:
- Parking: Please park your vehicles in your driveways or on one side of the road before the storm begins. This allows snowplows to navigate and clear streets more efficiently.
- Sidewalks: Residents and businesses are responsible for clearing all sidewalks on their property within 24 hours after the snow event has ended. Let’s work together to keep our sidewalks safe and accessible for pedestrians.
