According to this Washington Business Journal report, GSA is considering a second NIH (National Institute of Health) campus in Montgomery or Prince George’s county.

The Journal writes:

On Dec. 10, the GSA posted a presollicitation with for up to 539,000 square feet in either Montgomery or Prince George’s counties, a potentially lucrative deal for the winning bidder at a time when vacancy rates are significantly elevated in both suburban Maryland and Northern Virginia.

The notice is a request for expressions of interest, rather than a more formal request for proposals, and GSA spokeswoman Kamara Jones said the agency is trying to determine what is available in Montgomery and Prince George’s before proceeding. The exact space requirements could change based on responses, and Jones said it is premature to disclose additional information.
