Thanks to north College Park resident Joe Smith for building this Little Free Library. You will find this Little Library on Rhode Island Ave. between the Metro Bus Stop and Bike Share rack.

Joe told me he made the library almost entirely out of scrap wood – leftovers from furniture and other projects. The only materials he bought were the pelxi-glass for the doors and windows and the hardware for the door.

Also thanks to the College Park Community Library for donating books to this Little Library to the residents of North College Park. There are several Little Library in North College Park. If you are not familiar, they are free and the idea is to take a book and leave a book if possible.

We’re working on a project to bring more libraries like this to our neighborhoods throughout the city.
