Meeting to Discuss Recent Public Safety Issues in College Park

Many of you have asked about yesterday’s disturbing incident of the “street takeover.” Some of the questions are related to how the incident unfolded and how police helped to end it.

Our police officers will be at tomorrow’s Public Safety meeting to discuss crime in the area. Residents will have opportunities to ask questions. I would expect that the issue of loud noise and “Street takeover” will be addressed in this meeting.

The meeting will start at 7:30 pm Monday, April 10.

This is a virtual meeting so you can join from the convenience of your home. Here you can find more information about the meeting and how to join:

The meeting is regularly attended by City elected officials, police, the Department of Public Services, and neighbors from around the City for an informative monthly meeting.

This community-wide meeting discusses City-wide statistics, recent incidents of public interest, neighborhood watch tips, and special public safety-related topics. Tell your friends and neighbors to join the zoom meeting here.

What was the outcome of the meeting? Especially the outcome of the incident at Rhode Island and Edgewood Friday night.
