City has announced Robert L. Marsili, Jr. as Director of Public Works effective July 1, 2018.

Marsili replaces Robert “Bob” T. Stumpff, who retired in June after 13 years with the City.

“Marsili has demonstrated the leadership skills, know-how and drive necessary to be the Director of the City’s largest department. We are excited to have him in this new role and know he will do great things for the City and the Department” said City manager Mr. Scott Somers.

Marsili was hired by the City two years ago as the Assistant Director of Public Works overseeing operations. As Assistant Director, he led many of the City’s large Public Works projects and initiatives including snow and ice removal, curbside leaf removal, repairs to the Old Parish House, as well as day-to-day operations.

Prior to his employment with the City, Marsili served as the Deputy Associate Director for the Department of Transportation and the City-wide Program Support Manager for snow removal in Washington, D.C. He also worked in the City of Baltimore as the Executive Director of Operations and Maintenance and Superintendent of Street Lighting.

With more than 25 years of supervisory experience, Marsili has an extensive background overseeing large municipal public works and transportation departments.

“While Robert is a familiar face in the City, we hope our residents will join us in welcoming him as the City’s new Director of Public Works” said Somers.
