Looking Forward to this Saturday We’re starting the July 4th celebration early this Saturday! Come to the market to shop for your 4th of July picnic, and you’ll also be able to:- Welcome back Ashley and her friends from the Circus School. They will entertain kids of all ages with their special talents – making animal balloons, hats, and swords; juggling; and walking on stilts.
- FREE face-painting by north College Park resident Donna Weene.
- John, head mechanic from Proteus Bicycles (one of our sponsors!), will be there from 9 am to 12 Noon to give your bike a FREE check (shifting, brakes, drive train etc.) and make minor adjustments.
- Sign up for a drawing to win a $25 gift certificate from Behnke’s (another one of our sponsors!) and a gift certificate for a sandwich and drink from New York Deli (yet another one of our sponsors!). All you have to do is stop by the market tent, give us your name and contact information, and we’ll call or email you if you win one of the certificates.
- If you plan to buy something from Roy & RT’s Kitchen and Garden or from Heavenly Created Desserts, stop by the market table to get a $1 coupon (one per individual or family) for their delicious food.
- Fine jewelry artist Betty Gailes will be at the market Saturday to share her handmade beaded and sterling silver jewelry. Betty shares her life with Bill, owner of Gailes Violin, whose support for the market has earned him “angel” status.
- Janis from the College Park Committee for a Better Environment will distribute large and small mesh produce bags.
