College Park resident John William “Jack” Robson passed away quietly in Hospice care yesterday afternoon, July 2, 2022.
Jack was appointed to the Supervisors of Elections for College Park in May 1994, becoming the Chief Election Supervisor in 1997. Jack resigned from his position as Chief of Elections for the Supervisors of Elections, effective May 31, 2021
Jack was also appointed to the College Park Airport Authority in May 2004. He has been very interested in the College Park Airport and has worked hard for its welfare over the years; Jack was an active pilot and aircraft owner until 2020 and provided technical management assistance at the College Park airport on a volunteer basis.
Jack had been efficient, effective, and ethical, and is one of those people who just gets things done. Jack had strong opinions, but he was also a good listener and is patient and intentional in training and mentoring those with a desire to learn from his experience.
Jack will be sorely missed for the many contributions he made to the community. Here is a photo of him at our June 15, 2021, City Council meeting.

I had the honor of being on the receiving end of Mr Robson’s unambiguous wealth of knowledge. No question was too small nor time too short for Jack to stop, listen attentively, then give you a straight, concise answer without dancing around the question. And he was 99.99% right every time, and that 0.001% he would go fix it. The City of College Park has lost a hero and a role model. He will be sorely missed.
