More good news; it looks like construction on the first segment of Route 1 will begin in 3 years, Fall 2018: http://content.govdelivery.com/attachments/MDGOV/2015/06/25/file_attachments/402301/Project%2BFact%2BSheets%2B-%2B%2524845%2BNew%2Band%2B%2524625%2BPreserved%2B6.25.2015.pdf
The PDF lists where Maryland will be spending $845 million over the next few years. Though the timeline on construction isn’t exactly a surprise (it entered the engineering phase in 2013: http://www.diamondbackonline.com/news/local/article_6ed002da-9691-11e2-89a2-0019bb30f31a.html), it’s great to see that there is money and that there is a set time to break ground.
