Volunteers helping seniors

Volunteers helping seniors

Prince George’s county residents who can not repair their homes due to age, disability and financial hardship can now get free help from a project called “Christmas in April”.

The project is only limited to minor repairs to existing roofs. It cannot make structural repair or undertake projects that cannot be completed in one day. If you’re looking for a roofing services, you might consider visiting my link.

But if you’re in need of foundation repair, you can hire a professional foundation repair company to assess the damage and recommend the best course of action to stabilize and reinforce your foundation. It’s important to act quickly to avoid further damage and potential safety hazards. Signs of foundation issues can include cracks in walls or floors, uneven floors, doors or windows that don’t open or close properly, or a noticeable slant in your home’s foundation. You can read here more.

The work being done by volunteers can be inside the home or on the outside.

It is especially good for seniors or individuals with disabilities who cannot keep up with the maintenance on their property

The project is run by a nationwide volunteer organization that, in partnership with local communities, rehabilitates the homes of low-income, elderly or handicapped persons, or families with children, at no cost, so that they may live in warmth, safety and independence.

The next event will take place on Saturday, April 26, 2014. If you are interested in being considered for the program, or know someone who may be interested, please complete this application form  and return to 7915 Malcom Rd, Clinton, MD 20735. Applications must be received by November 1, 2015.
