I learned today that the Governor’s Office for Children (GOC) has agreed to release the state funding for College Park, Bowie and District Heights Youth Services Bureaus.

College Park City Council expressed concerns about the possibility of funding cut a few weeks back.

The Governor’s Office is holding tough and still refusing to release the monies for Annapolis, Dundalk (Balt Co), First Step (Balt Co,) and Greenbelt CARES, claiming that they are underperforming Bureaus.

We’re all very happy to be able to have the State’s funding and are honored to continue in the service of our families and children. On behalf of the children and families to be served, thank you for your important advocacy. This would not have happened without the involvement of many residents who asked the Governor not to cut funding for our important youth programs.
