Davis Hall has been closed to public for several months now due to the reconstruction of the modular building, used by the Public Works staff. Staff has been using the Davis Hall space while the construction is completed.
In case you’re thinking what’s going on with the Modular building work, here is an update.
On Friday, December 9, Modular Genie received from Prince George’s County DPIE the building permit. The County is scheduling the pre-construction meeting, which is now mandatory with third party inspections, for last week.
The electrical contractor is finishing preliminary work for installation of the new emergency generator and electrical tie-in. On December 13, Washington Gas contractor installed the new gas meter to accommodate the new building, the emergency generator, and Davis Hall.
Weather permitting, the foundation contractor will excavate the foundation the early in December and pour the concrete the first week in January.
With this schedule, we’re expecting to see Davis Hall to open by early next year.
