Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan just ordered that all Maryland malls and entertainment venues would be closed at 5 p.m. today, the latest in a series of steps area officials have taken in response to the novel coronavirus that has swept the nation in the past few months.

He said, the number of Maryland residents testing positive for the virus increased 88 percent over the last 48 hours to a total of 107 people, including a five-year-old girl.

Additionally, he said that the Maryland Department of Transportation will immediately restrict access to the terminal at BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport to ticketed passengers and badged airport employees only. Exceptions will be made for visitors that are visiting disabled passengers.
