As the national election is nearing, a College Park group has joined a national “Get Out the Vote” drive.

The College Park-based “Neighbors Connect” will join the national campaign by MomsRising to get registered women voters to go to polls this November.

As part of the campaign, the non-partisan MomsRising is planning to send a million postcards to randomly selected women registered voters across the country. According to MomsRising, “women and moms that don’t always vote and need a friendly (and powerful!) nudge toward the mailbox or ballot box this year”.

College Park NeighborsConnect will collect 300 signed postcards from College Park and the surrounding area residents. Volunteers are requested to contact Carol Nezzo (email:, phone: 301-864-5267) if they are interested to sign postcards. Volunteers will be asked to sign their first names and write an encouraging sentence on postcards. Ms. Nezzo lives at 4600 Amherst Rd., College Park (near Whole Foods), where postcards can be signed.
