College Park Day, 2013

Join your friends, neighbors, and the whole College Park Community at the 4th Annual College Park Day event on Saturday, October 19, 2013, from 11am – 3pm

The event is happening at lunchtime so come hungry and grab some great grub! Our terrific food vendors will feature sweet and savory delights from around the globe, and last year’s fan favorite Curbside Cupcakes will bring cupcake bliss to all of your sweet senses!

Be sure to stop by and visit with over 70 community and College Park business exhibitor booths and get information on what they do, how you can get involved, or simply pick up some unique items by local artists or perhaps enter a raffle drawing for a fantastic and wonderful prize!

Bring the kids! We have lots of ways to keep the little ones entertained during the day! We have a kid zone complete with giant inflatable castle and spider climb and slide for them to play on, free rollerskating, face painting, pumpkin painting at the Boys and Girls Club booth, arts and crafts at the College Park Arts Exchange booth, and some fun carnival games.

Have a fun ride for the kid in you – come out and try the Extreme Air Bungee Jumper! Jump and do flips 15-20 feet in the air while safely harnessed into this great ride. Get here early, we’re sure it will be popular!

Say hello to first responders who keep us and our families safe. We’ll have officers from the Maryland State Police, Prince George’s County and the University of Maryland units; College Park, Branchville, and Prince George’s County Firefighters; and the Bomb Squad doing demonstrations on their unique equipment. Ride the Enforcer – simulating a 15 mph head on crash. Come by and see some really cool stuff!

Be philanthropic by bringing non perishable items to the College Park Community Food Bank booth; or bring sealed bags of kitty litter to the Animal Welfare Committee booth. For each item you bring you’ll feel good AND receive a raffle ticket to be entered into our drawings to win 2 tickets to a UMD football or 2 tickets to basketball game. Click on the win prizes tabs above for more information!

There will be a organized bike ride at 11am by the fine folks at Proteus Bicycles if you’d like to get a little exercise, see the city and burn some calories; or maybe you’d like to run or walk a 5k for the Crime Victims Fund at 9am.

Eat out on College Park Day and get 10% off at some of your favorite restaurants in town – check out who is participating on the Restaurant Discounts tab above!

AMF College Park Lanes, REI College Park, and the Tennis Center at College Park are all offering special discounts on College Park Day! See the City-wide Discounts tab above for more info.

On stage we’ll have a variety of entertainment for the eyes and ears!

We have many activities all over town and at the event site for this year’s College Park Day.
