At last night’s Council meeting, the City Council discussed the possibility of designating certain individuals who are no longer able to attend meetings as “honorary” members of the Board, Committee or Commission (Committee) on which the person has served.

The suggested criteria includes: a founding members of a Committee, a long serving member who has a unique connection to the Committee, or a member with significant institutional memory that remains beneficial to the Committee.

Honorary members would not be part of the official roster and would not have a vote in Committee matters. They would not be required to complete annual financial disclosure statements.

The Council will vote on the proposal at the next week’s Council meeting.
