City of College Park was surprised to learn through news reports that it was listed by DHS as a “sanctuary jurisdiction,” despite never declaring itself as such and lacking a police department or authority to process ICE detainer requests. The City remains committed to being a welcoming, law-abiding community and will review any formal communication from DHS while continuing to work with government partners.
