City is looking for volunteers to join in the Special Olympics Torch Relay, as it will pass through College Park on May 26th.
City is sponsoring a segment of the Special Olympics Torch Relay, as it will pass through College Park on May 26th as it heads out to Los Angeles for the world games. As we decided to be a sponsor, the City team will be carrying the torch through a ½-mile segment on Route 1.
So far 3 Council members (including me), and one resident have responded. We’re expecting a few more residents and a few special Olympic athletes in the community or other special needs athletes for the event. We can have up to 15 people, so there’s plenty of room. Here are the details on our segment:
Start Time: 12:57 PM, May 26, Tuesday
Start Location: Baltimore Avenue at Rossborough Lane
Arrival Time: Please arrive at least 20 minutes prior to start time.
