NCPCA to Host Ice Cream Social this Sunday

Summer is officially upon us and with it the welcome change of pace and energetic atmosphere. As you take time to recharge and reconnect this summer, take a few minutes to check in with the local community events and resources to make sure you don’t miss a beat ♪

North College Park and Lakeland Civic associations Meet Tonight

City’s two civic associations will be hosting their monthly meetings today

North College Park Community Association (NCPCA) Meeting

NCPCA’sregular May meeting will be today, Thursday, May 11th, at Davis Hall from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm. The city’s Community Development Planner will present on proposed renovations for North College Park’s four public playgrounds. Residents will have the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback on the proposed renovations. Any nominations for new NCPCA officers are due at this meeting.

The meeting will be held at Davis Hall, 9217 – 51st Avenue. Zoom information should be available on the NCPCA’s website at https://myncpca.org

Lakeland Civic Association Meeting

You’re invited to the May 11th Lakeland Civic Association meeting, 7-8:30 pm.  This in-person meeting will be held at the College Park Community Center, 5051 Pierce Ave.

NCPCA Weekly Coffee Social at Proteus Brews

Beginning February 26th, NCPCA members will receive a 15% discount on Proteus Brews purchases made on Sundays from 11 am to 1 pm* Details below.

The owners of Proteus Brews have generously agreed to host a weekly Coffee Social for NCPCA members and their guests every Sunday from 11 am to 1 pm at Proteus Brews (9827 Rhode Island Ave, College Park, MD), beginning February 26th. On Sundays from 11 am to 1 pm, anyone who requests the “NCPCA Discount” at checkout will receive 15% off of all Proteus Brews purchases except for shortcake pastries.

Even if you do not wish to buy anything, please come by on Sundays at Proteus Brews from 11 am to 1 pm to socialize with other NCPCA members! Please fill out the attendance form at this link whether you intend to attend the first Coffee Social on February 26th so that Proteus Brews can plan on having adequate staff. Please submit answers by Thursday, February 23rd.

Tonight’s NCPCA Meeting – Special Election, Budget Wish list, and More..

At today’s monthly NCPCA meeting, the members will participate in a special election, Here is the list of candidates who are running for the president and vice president roles.

Additionally, members will be discussing budget wish list items for City Council to consider, so come up with ideas!

Today – December NCPCA Meeting

Today is NCPCA’s December meeting. Below is the meeting agenda. The meeting is hybrid:

Members will be at Davis Hall and on Zoom (NOTE: Only the official part of the meeting will be hybrid). This month will be a short regular meeting to make time to celebrate the holidays with our neighbors. Don’t forget to RSVP (although not required!). They will have food and refreshments, a White Elephant Exchange ($15 max), and a food drive for the College Park Community Food Bank. You can read more details about the party here.
