Construction activity is ramping up for the Calvert Hills Storm Drain Improvement Project, and residents will begin to see increased activity in and around the Calvert Hills Neighborhood Playground over the coming weeks.

Large Crane Delivery

Between April 27 and April 28, a very large crawler crane is being delivered to the construction site. Due to its size, the crane is arriving in multiple pieces on approximately 11 tractor trailers. To safely accommodate this delivery, “No Parking” signs have been posted along the designated route. Residents are asked to follow posted restrictions and plan for possible short-term disruptions.

Concrete Deliveries (April 28 – May 14)

From April 28 through May 14, additional deliveries will take place as precast concrete modular components are transported to the site. These materials will be used to build key parts of the new stormwater system.

As with the crane delivery, temporary parking restrictions are in place along the delivery routes to allow trucks to safely access the site.

What to Expect

During this period, residents may notice:

  • Temporary “No Parking” restrictions along delivery routes
  • Increased truck traffic in the neighborhood
  • Minor travel delays near the playground and surrounding streets

We understand this may be inconvenient and appreciate your patience.

Why This Work Matters

This project is an important investment in the Calvert Hills neighborhood. Once complete, it will:

  • Improve stormwater drainage
  • Reduce the risk of localized flooding
  • Strengthen long-term infrastructure in the area

Thank you for your cooperation as we move forward with these important improvements.
