Last week, I met with University of Maryland President Dr. Darryll Pines and members of his team, along with our District 1 Councilmembers and senior City staff, to discuss several exciting ongoing initiatives and new opportunities for collaboration.
These quarterly meetings have become an important part of the strong partnership between the City and the University. Councilmembers participate on a rotating basis, with two members from each district joining us at different meetings.
I’m excited about the progress we’ve made together and the opportunities ahead. From community and, economic development to strengthening connections between UMD and our neighborhoods, there is a lot happening—and even more we can accomplish by continuing to work together.
