Building Block Training Program for Youth Ages 13-17

Youth residents of the City of College Park, ages 13 – 17, are invited to participate in the Building Block Training Program’s Block Party. The Block Party is a special day that includes “blocks” focused on understanding the true meaning of service and why it is important to get involved in your community; learning more about your own leadership traits and how to use them to become a leader in your community; practicing useful techniques to help you set realistic goals, use your time wisely, and commit to your volunteer or job placement; and exploring the importance of proper volunteer and workplace attire and solid interview preparation.

The program is hosted by M-NCPPC’s Department of Parks and Recreation and will be held 9 am – 2 pm, January 17, 2014 at the College Park Youth Services Center, 4912 Nantucket Road, College Park, 20740. Lunch will be provided and youth who successfully complete the Block Party will receive a Certificate of Completion and earn five (5) student service learning hours.

The program is free but registration is required. To register, click here.
