Today we celebrated the completion of Phase 1 of the US 1 College Park Improvement Project! This 1.5-mile transformation has made Route 1 safer and more beautiful, with dedicated bike lanes, wider sidewalks, and new medians enhancing traffic flow and pedestrian safety. This vision, championed years ago by dedicated community members, is now a reality thanks to the support of our state and county leaders and the partnership with UMD and SHA. We’re so proud of the progress we’ve made and excited for what’s next!
