College Park Community Foundation, which is organising this Sunday’s 5K race in north College Park, has sent this information about the race.

We’re so excited to see you on Sunday morning for the College Park Mother’s Day 5k! This email contains all the information you’ll need for the race.

College Park Mother’s Day 5k
Sunday, May 10
Hollywood Shopping Center
9801 Rhode Island Avenue | College Park, MD 20740
Race time: 7:30 a.m.

Parking:
Free parking is available in the shopping center. Please plan to park on far left side of the parking lot (facing the shopping center), on the side closest to MOM’s Organic Market. After the race start, vehicle will only be able to enter through what is usually the exit, to the north of the usual entrance to the shopping center.

Packet Pick-Up:
Onsite Race Registration and Packet Pick-up begins at 6:15 a.m. At this time, you’ll pick up your race bib, timing chip, and race t-shirt. Onsite registration for any family and friends who did not pre-register is also available at this time ($30), via cash, check, or credit card. Bring your family, friends, and neighbors! Onsite registration will end at 7:00 a.m.

This race is the final race in the College Park 5K Series. If you ran all three races in the series, be sure to let us know at check-in and collect your special swag bag at the race finish.

Timing:
The race timing will be managed by Blue Point Timing and official times will be available on www.bluepointtiming.com by Monday, May 11. And remember, the timing chip is yours to keep as a race memento!

Runners with strollers: We are taking special precautions for your safety. There is a curb cut that is one stroller wide near the beginning of the course. If you are running (as opposed to walking) the course, you will be sent off individually before the mass start, and the extent of your head start will be recorded.

Click here to view the course. There will be volunteers stationed throughout the course to guide you as well as provide assistance, should you need it.

Awards:
All race finishers will receive a MOM’s Organic Market gift bag. At 8:15 a.m., the awards ceremony will begin, recognizing the top three overall male and female racers, as well as the top male and female finishers in the following categories:

Under 20 years old
21-29 years old
30-39 years old
40-49 years old
50-59 years old
60+ years old
Top 3 Stroller Racers (male or female)

Prizes include delicious pies, donated by Wegman’s, and REI has provided awards for the top finishers.

Pre/Post Race Activities:
Onsite refreshments, including water and coffee, will be provided by MOM’s Organic Market, and the College Park Chorale will share a few musical numbers. We’ll also have special local celebrities on hand to help us throughout the morning! Bring your friends and family to enjoy the morning and cheer you on!
