Volunteers Plant Trees to Create Forest Garden in Berwyn

Residents and UMD students volunteered together this morning to plant trees to create a permaculture garden in Berwyn. The Committee for a Better Environment has been working to help create this Trolley Trail Forest Garden for some time. Volunteers planted trees and bushes that will eventually produce edible fruit, nuts and spices. They met at 9:00 a.m. on the Trolley Trail (along Rhode Island Avenue) between Greenbelt Road & Tecumseh Street. Thanks everyone who helped place many new plants and trees along the trail. Here are a few pictures I took.
