Today is the second Thursday of the month and hence the day when the North College Park Community Association will be having their monthly May meeting. Please see today’s meeting agenda. As usual, the meeting will take place at Davis Hall, starting at 7:30pm

7:35 Branchville Fire Station Staffing Concerns. Chief Eric Gove of Branchville, and possibly Chief McLelland and other fire officials from Branchville and P.G. County will discuss staffing, emergency response dispatch from Branchville, and impacts on North College Park residents. Possible resolution in New Business.

8:05 Announcements of Candidates for Elected Office. Mr. Tom Dernoga, candidate for Prince George’s County Council – District 1 is expected. If other candidates for office within the NCPCA area wish to speak, they will be allowed in conformance with past practice. General announcements of elected officials are scheduled later.

8:15 Community Center Committee Report & NCPCA Resolution. The NCPCA Community Center Committee will present its report and request acceptance and endorsement of their conclusions. Discussion will follow. If a motion to endorse is approved, NCPCA will immediately consider a resolution to send a letter to M-NCPPC in support of funding for a new community center in North College Park.

8:40 Rhode Island Avenue & Bike Lanes. A discussion about the May 9 City planning meeting will be provided, followed by questions and answers. Possible NCPCA resolution in New Business.

8:50 Hollywood Commercial District. A discussion about recent City planning for the park at US 1 & Edgewood Road will be provided, followed by questions and answers. Possible NCPCA resolution in New Business.

9:00 Hollywood Gateway Park. A discussion about recent City planning for commercial district improvements will be provided, followed by questions and answers. Possible NCPCA resolution in New Business.

9:10 Preliminary Report of Nominating Committee & Officers Reports. NCPCA officer elections are in June. The NCPCA Nominating Committee established at the April 12 meeting will provide an update regarding nominations. Officer Reports will follow, then review and approval of minutes of the April 12 NCPCA meeting.
