Residents Gather at NCP Neighborhood Watch Social

NCP Neighborhood Watch Social Feb 2012

I was at the  the North College Park Neighborhood Social at Davis Hall last week and was pleased to meet with so many neighbors.

A few of the residents signed up for Neighborhood Watch and were interested in training to be Block Captains and/or Coordinators, which is very encouraging to us.

Members of Prince George’s Police and College Park contract Police were also present.

Thanks to Zari Malswama and Robert Boone of Neighborhood Watch steering committee for organizing this great event.

We have 18 neighborhoods in the city, and our mission is to develop effective Neighborhood Watch programs in every neighborhood. As of today, only 6 of the 18 neighborhoods have some form of Neighborhood Watch; so we have a long way to go. – said Zari in an email

The group  is planning to have a Neighborhood Watch Training Event scheduled as follows:

Date: Thursday, March 22nd, 2012

Time: 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Location: City Hall (Lower Level Conference Room), 4500 Knox Road, College Park, MD (Free parking available!)

Please mark your calendars & come out to this event.

In the meantime, please check out our webpage and peruse the roles & duties of Block Captains & Coordinators for Neighborhood Watch here

See you on March 22nd! And in the meantime, please feel free to contact with any questions you might have.
